Bridging the Digital Divide in our Community

STRIDE Clondalkin Project

Our STRIDE Clondalkin Project begun in 2017. Generous Grants from Google have enabled CEEDS to develop an advanced Digital Learning Centre in the Heart of our Community. This state of the art facility allows CEEDS, with the support of Google, to provide Digital Learning incentives, access to technology and Digital supports to help people to use the internet.

Google and CEEDS – Investing in our Community

Since 2017, Google has proudly supported our CEEDS STRIDE Project, investing in the region of €150,000 in hardware, software and training infrastructure through generous Community Grants. These supports have enabled CEEDS to tackle the issues presented by the widening digital divide in North Clondalkin, while focusing on inclusivity, accessibility and real community needs.

Empowering our Community through Technology and Learning

Our STRIDE Project has enabled CEEDS to develop a range of Digital Learning Programs. These incentives have been created as a response to the Digital marginalization of some of the most vulnerable members of our Community during the Covid-19 pandemic, providing people with the Hands-on supports they need to use the internet and other Computer technologies. This incentive has been an incredible success to date, with 80+ Learners certified since September 2021 and many of these progressing to further education and employment.

CEEDS and South Dublin County Council

SDCC has provided funding supports to CEEDS

CEEDS Clondalkin Centre for the Unemployed is grateful for the funding supports provided by South Dublin County Council. From 2021 to 2022, SDCC awarded CEEDS Grants of €2,000 and €5,000 respectively from their Community Activities Fund to assist our Project with the dramatically increased Centre running costs. Their very welcome support has assisted us greatly to be able to continue to offer our services to the community and throughout 2022, despite very challenging times. In November 2022, South Dublin County Council awarded CEEDS a Grant of €5,000 to undertake a much-needed redevelopment of our Kitchen facilities. This work will be completed in 2023. Management and Directors of CEEDS appreciate the assistance provided by South Dublin County Council during these difficult and unprecedented times.

Social Welfare Appeals Service

Information and representation service

New Clinic open every Monday from 10AM-2PM at CEEDS

Social Welfare Appeals

If you need to appeal a decision to the Social Welfare Appeals Office or the Ombudsman’s Office, our Officer can represent you.

Initial consultation is free. This will allow you to gain enough information in order to decide if you want to appeal and whether you would like to be represented.

If after the first consultation you decide that you need full representation, we offer a no-win, no-fee service. If you do not win your case, we will not charge you anything. If you do win, your fee is paid out of the backdated payment that you receive from your Social Welfare entitlement.

This is an appointment only service – Every Monday at CEEDS Clondalkin from 10AM – 2PM. To make an appointment with an Officer, please call CEEDS on 01-6233629 or email welfare@ceeds.ie

Your Social Welfare Entitlements

Social Welfare rules are changing all the time. Your social welfare entitlements also change along with your circumstances. Sometimes we don’t think about how changes will affect our social welfare payments. There are also a number of secondary benefits and social welfare payments that not everyone is aware of. We recommend that you check your social welfare entitlements at least once every year, and also every time you experience a change of circumstances. You may not be receiving everything that you are entitled to.

Check to see whether you are getting the right rate of payment (e.g., if you are under 26 or if you have means assessed against you), whether there are any secondary benefits you are entitled to, and how your social welfare payment will be affected if you start working.

Contact us to make an appointment at our Monday clinic at CEEDS, and one of our experts can go over your circumstances to see if you are receiving everything you are entitled to.
