Course information

Manual Handling is a half-day course designed to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries in the workplace.

The workshop provides participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively identify, assess and control risks arising from manual handling tasks.

Participants learn how to correctly lift, place down and move objects safely from one place to another while making sure that they are safe and not likely to cause injury to others.

Please ensure that you wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely while completing your skills demonstration lifts.

Back basics
Prevention of back injury
Ergonomics and VDU’s
Equipment
Manual handling assessment
Individual lifts and carrying (this section can be tailored to suit the group)
Safe Lifting
Exercise for your back

Qualification: NCU Training Certificate
Assessment: Skills demonstration / exam

I have just completed the Intro to WP course at CEEDS. It was easy to follow and Fiona is a fantastic Tutor, she is very patient and thorough in her approach to teaching. The staff in the centre are all lovely and helpful and I will definitely be back for another course, I would highly recommend anybody thinking about it to join up

Hi I completed the basic computer course and found it an excellent course. This is the first couse i have done since leaving school in 1983 so i was really outside my comfort zone but the staff at Ceeds and Fiona the teacher were excellent at putting me at ease .I will continue to practice all i have learnt at home and hope to move on and do the the Word course next . An excellent 4 days ,well done Ceeds .

I have just completed a Word Processing Course here in Ceeds with Fiona and it has been a brilliant course and I have learned so much from this training. This is a brilliant centre and all of the staff here are so lovely including Fiona who teaches in a way that you always feel comfortable asking questions and she explains everything in such a clear way, making sure that you understand everything before moving on. I have really enjoyed this very valuable training and it will help me so much in my new Business, giving me more confidence on Computers in general.
